M.Sc. Georgina Pacheco Revilla – Costa rica

Georgina Pacheco Revilla is an archaeologist and physical anthropologist with a Master´s in Physical Anthropology. Since 2010, she has been the sole forensic anthropologist for the Costa Rican government and founded the Forensic Anthropology Unit within the Judicial Investigation Agency. She is also a professor at the University of Costa Rica. Pacheco has worked in Spain, Ecuador, and the United States, focusing on promoting standards for judicial investigations involving human remains in Costa Rica. Currently, she is pursuing a doctorate in identifying migrants who die at the Mexico-United States border and has actively participated in related workshops and talks. Since 2015, she has been a member of the Latin American Association of Forensic Anthropology (ALAF) and became president of the Costa Rican Forensic Anthropology and Archaeology Team (ECAAF) in 2022.
